KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 — The Consulate General of Malaysia in Jeddah has advised Malaysians in Saudi Arabia, especially those in the western region and individuals performing umrah, to remain alert, calm and informed amid current regional developments.
In a Facebook notice, the consulate urged Malaysians to download the MyWorld Alert application to monitor updates and facilitate assistance if necessary, while refraining from posting content that could disrupt public order under local laws.
Authorities said the overall situation in Saudi Arabia remains safe and under control, with the consulate closely monitoring developments. Meanwhile, the Embassy of Malaysia in Kuwait similarly advised Malaysians to rely only on verified sources and follow local authorities’ instructions.
The embassy urged citizens to avoid spreading unverified information and ensure their contact details are updated for consular assistance if required.
